Imagine a place where history and innovation are not just words, but a way of life. Welcome to Brugarol Wine & Olive Oil Estate, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the Catalan countryside. Here, time-honored traditions blend seamlessly with forward-thinking creativity, and every bottle of wine, drop of olive oil, and wheel of cheese is crafted with deep respect for the land. Generations of dedication are reflected in every harvest, as Brugarol combines age-old craftsmanship with modern techniques to create sustainable, exceptional products that honor both nature and the future.
At the heart of our estate lies Celler Brugarol, an award-winning winery designed by the renowned RCR Arquitectes. This subterranean marvel, seamlessly integrated into the vineyard and forest, is a testament to sustainable, site-sensitive architecture. Designed in 2007, the vision of Rafael Aranda and the RCR team brings together aesthetics and functionality in perfect harmony. Deeply connected to the region, Aranda’s design creates a space that is both protective and revealing – a sanctuary for winemaking that speaks to the land’s essence.
Celler Brugarol is defined by its striking use of corten steel, repurposed from decommissioned ships, forming a weathered entrance that leads into underground corridors. These naturally insulated caverns maintain a stable temperature and humidity year-round, eliminating the need for artificial climate control and embracing true sustainability. Above ground, slender steel blades rise among the vines, acting as both light wells and shields against the fierce Tramontana winds. Meanwhile, the winery’s laboratory, enclosed in steel and glass, offers an expansive view of the surrounding forest, creating a striking juxtaposition between industry and nature.
Come and experience the magic of Celler Brugarol for yourself. Walk through our underground corridors, savor our biodynamic wines, and immerse yourself in the breathtaking landscape of the Catalan countryside. Book your visit!
“Our stay at Bell-lloc was perfect, we will definitely come back. The room was very large and comfortable, the accommodation was beautiful and all the staff were very kind. They make you feel at home. The food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is of high quality, and although the menu is small, they continue to change dishes and everything is very good, and at a reasonable price. Special mention for the oil (which they make), very tasty and delicious. In the same way, we made two visits: one to the winery and one to the pastor. To thank Morad for his sympathy, knowledge and explanations, it is definitely worth it and it is a very complete guide and tasting.”
